Kendra's Cookies was created as a result of a dream… literally. I awoke from a nap where I dreamed I was designing a cookie web site. I grabbed a pen and a legal pad and began writing down my ideas. Fast forward a few months and my dream has become a reality!
I couldn't have started this business without the support of my husband David, my mother-in-law Donna, my "cookies", Lauren & Hannah (featured in my logo), my best friend Cindy who placed the first order, the creative tech team of Adam & Brooke who designed my logo and my original web site, my bud Glenn who offered so much marketing help and advice, I'll be forever indebted to him, my friends Rachel and Jeremy who also pitched in and gave me marketing tips to attract local business and the slew of friends who helped spread the word about Kendra's Cookies as well as placed orders in the early days. While home one day, in early 2008, I watched an episode of The Rachael Ray Show that centered around Mom's who took simple ideas and turned them into successful businesses. I was initially envious of their success until I asked myself what was preventing me from being successful. I definitely had creativity (which often got me into trouble when I was younger) as well as as 11 years of business experience. All of that experience has brought me to where I am today.
Kendra's Cookies specializes in irresistible decorated sugar cookies for every taste and occasion. When starting this company, my challenge was to create a tasty product from scratch that used high-quality ingredients and could be delivered fresh, with a home-baked taste. Based on the feedback I've received, I've succeeded in doing that and hope to bring my products from my home to yours.
